book cover design process I
I chose three books written by chang-rae lee to design book covers.
1. native speaker ( about second generation korean who is not yet completely "native"...)
2. a gesture life ( an old man deeply scarred and doubly alienated by the war)
3. aloaft (flight plan to transcend the traumas of a multi-racial family)
those books are all about immigration life. I want to represent this existence through weaving, using worn papers...meshing and stitching old memories and new lives together.
weaving
I failed at weaving papers over and over again, but finally saved two pieces which I plan to use for native speaker...
I still have a lot to do.
